Home Learning
Each week I shall put forward a few ideas you may wish to do. Please pick and choose whatever suits you best and don't feel under any pressure to undertake or complete any activity. As Mrs Bewsher wrote on the school facebook page ..
"We could all be in this for the long haul, so don’t feel pressured to get everything done by a particular date. There is as much value in baking or gardening, playing a game as a family or building with Lego as there is in completing a work book or writing a story. Yes, encourage learning, but take it a step at a time and remember that learning comes in many forms and all learning is valuable.
As a school, we will continue to provide you with resources and ideas that you ‘could’ use with your children at home. These are not compulsory tasks or homework, these are suggestions for how you can get through the day, keeping the kids entertained whilst retaining your own sanity. As teachers, we have access to a wealth of resources and, as we can’t be there in person teaching our classes, the best we can do is point you in the direction of things that may help. Use them as they work best for you."
Whatever you do, please keep it enjoyable and play-based. Capitalise on your child's interests wherever possible and you should find there are lots of ‘teachable moments’ that present themselves through this context. Essentially, keep doing what you are already doing! If you get a chance to add anything of interest to Tapestry that would be great as it's lovely to see and keep a record of this time at home.
