Home Learning
Welcome to our home-learning page for Class 5!
Here you will find the links that were sent out with the children on their last day in school, as well as a weekly guide to activities for your child to complete if you have time to do these. I am aware some children struggle with not having a routine which is why I have put this into a weekly plan, however feel free to pick and choose what you do when or do something completely different.
Please remember, there is no pressure to do all of these activities or to do them within a certain time frame. I am just trying to provide work which can be adapted to suit the different circumstances people are finding themselves in.
As always if you need anything at all, please message me on Dojo or get your child to email me on Purple Mash.
Have a lovely week!

Week commencing 8th June 2020 -
This week I have planned in the same way we have been used to, however I am going to look to use a new platform called Seesaw to set the children daily tasks. Throughout the week I will send you instructions of how to access this and we will trial it to see how it works. Class 4 and Class 6 are using this so it may already be familiar to some of you. I will send details on Class Dojo.

Science Week - Week commencing 1st June 2020
As it's still officially half term for BPS, I have chosen to do a science week. Luckily our next science topic was Plants which is absolutely perfect to do at home too. I am going to attach a daily activity plan. Each day will have 2 options so you can take a relaxed approach or a full investigation approach depending on your own circumstances. Remember to make your science as fun as possible; in class we use lots of post-it notes, videos, hands on investigating and lots of questioning. I've added a knowledge organiser below with all of the vocabulary and concepts we will be investigating throughout the week.

Here are some maths games and challenges to try
Maths consolidation packs - These can be printed or you can write the answers on a piece of paper. The answer pages are at the end of the documents.
Target your Maths - These are pages from a textbook that we often use in class. The challenges get increasingly harder starting with A then B & C. I don't have an answer booklet for these so you may choose for your child to use a calculator to check answers where they can or you can send a photo on Dojo and I will mark them for you.
