Class 5 learned all about light in science week! We learned about the importance of being seen on the road. We also investigated how light helps us to see all around us!

Our topic for science week is ... Electricity! First we started by looking at how we have to be safe when using Electricity. We also looked at different types of electricity and how electricity is made.

In the the afternoon we finally got a chance to use electricity to make a lightbulb work by creating a complete circuit. We definitely had lots of ‘lightbulb’ moments. We had lots of fun working with circuits!!

Class 5 and 4 learned all about sound this week in science. We investigated the effect of sound detectors on our hearing, by making our own sound detectors. We also investigated which material was the best insulator of sound and drew line and bar graphs to show our results. We learned about volume, pitch and how the human ear works as well.

Class 5 have grown their own cress plants and explored what plants need to survive. We looked at how water is transported through a plant and recreated this process outside in the play ground. We had lots of making our own plant models to show the process of transpiration!
