over the past two weeks we have been learning all about dinosaurs. Looking through information books from the library and Miss Khans collection of books we have found out about fossils, dinosaur eggs, carnivores and herbivores. In our writing books we have written about our favourite dinosaurs and we have been exploring different dinosaurs in our Dinosour Labatory.
Zoolab came to visit us at the start of our half term. We were able to hold, stroke and observe lots of different animals such as tree frogs, snakes, rats, cockroaches, trurantuals and a tortoise. As a class we have learnt lots of new information about these animals and how some of these animals were similar to the dinosaurs we have been learning about in the classroom.
The New Bookshop
For World Book Day we visited The New Bookshop in Cockermouth. This is our second visit in Class 2 and again we enjoyed listening to a variety of stories, singing nursery rhymes and this time choosing a World Book Day Book to take home using our tokens. The class was very excited to chose their own book to take home, and they are very excited about World Book Day!
World Book Day
As a whole school we have been celebrating World Book Day. Every child came into school wearing a costume of a character from a story. We have enjoyed looking at everyone’s costumes and hearing about the stories they are from. We also took part in a whole school quiz to match up the teacher with their favourite childhood book.
Over the past couple of weeks in Class 2 we have been learning about farm animals. Using informations books and taking a trip out to Wellington Farm to observe some animals and have a delicious ice cream! Our book focus this half term has been Farmer Duck and we have been re-writing the story with different characters.
