The Arts

Class 6 used Kandinsky's work as inspiration for their hall display. Kandinsky was a Russian painter who was famous for his abstract style, focusing particularly on shape. We used his abstract circles to create leaves for our trees under the heading 'From tiny acorns, mighty oak trees grow'...

We were inspired by the photography work of North American artist Ansell Adams. He enjoyed taking black and white photographs of breathtaking landscapes. He did not use colour as he felt it distracted the viewers from the actual image. We used colour photographs of landscapes, cut them up and rearranged them to make new landscapes.

As we move towards Christmas, we decided to finally get the glitter and cotton wool out. We are busy creating log cabins and fir trees for our winter wonderland display...

Drawing shells as part of our topic based on the seaside....
