Week beginning 16/01/17
This week we began our new topic for this half-term ... 'People Who Help Us'. We started by investigating people who help us at home, using the nursery rhyme 'Old Mother Hubbard' as a starting point. We enjoyed listening to, and making up, additional verses to the rhyme. Each of us drew a picture to illustrate people who help us at home, and what they do for us. We used the context of Old mother Hubbard and her dog to support some of our counting work. Our choice of books this week shared a common setting of 'home' which inspired some of our phonics work.
Finally, we read 'The Jolly Postman' as an example as someone (the postman) who helps us at home by delivering letters and parcels.
