We were ready to add some new books to our mini class library so decided to each choose a book from our non-fiction library. We then spent some time enjoying our books in class.

Children in Year 2 have worked extremely hard on a recount of their recent residential to Bassenfell Manor. The presentation was beautiful and children really concentrated on including the different features of a recount.

The children had to sequence events from their residential in chronological order using photographs and rehearse sentences orally to recount their visit.

Spring Term

We have been working on using adjectives and similes to describe in preparation for writing a character description.

This term we are looking at Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as part of our 'Chocolate' topic. Here are our first responses to the story. We are very excited about reading it!

Autumn Term

Our topic for this half term is Traditional Tales. We started the topic by writing our 'Entry Ticket' all about Little Red Riding Hood. We are now moving on to learning Cinderella.

We have learnt all about the story of Cinderella and have now 'invented' a new story called 'Cinderella'.

We have been looking at the traditional tale 'The Gingerbread Man'. We are learning how to write instructions on making our very own Gingerbread Man. We had a 'wow' afternoon baking Gingerbread Men with Mrs Fitzsimmons! We had lots of fun!
