Forest visit

We were very excited to go on our first visit to the school forest site. We loved travelling on the minibus to get there. When we arrived Miss Ford met us and led us to the site. We listened to the story of the 'Gruffalo' and then had a great time exploring the forest and going on a Gruffalo hunt looking for all the characters in the story! Miss Ford lit a camp fire and we all enjoyed eating our snack around the camp circle. We look forward to our next visit to the forest!

Children in Need

We all enjoyed 'Children in Need' day - some of us wore spotty clothes or pudsey-bear clothes, and many of us had wacky hair! We raised money, enjoyed some special activities related to children in need, including making and eating spotty cakes, and learned about what happens to the money that is raised.

Traditional Tales

This half-term we have focused on traditional tales, concentrating particularly on 'The 3 little pigs' and 'The Gingerbread Man' - we have enjoyed listening to and learning the stories, taking part in lots of role play activities and creating story maps, pictures and puppets to retell the stories. We used the contexts of the stories to support our development in all areas of learning including maths and phonics.

Christmas

We really enjoyed the build up to Christmas! We learnt the Christmas story, had a great time wrapping presents and sending cards in our Santa's workshop role play, enjoyed lots of Christmas craft activities, took part in our fund-raising Christmas jumper day, and finally, performed really well in our class nativity performance.
