Communication & Language
Communication and language development involves giving children opportunities to experience a rich language environment; to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves; and to speak and listen in a range of situations.
Sharing Our News
Every Monday morning we pass a sloth around our class as we sit in a circle. We can only talk when we are holding Slow Poke. This means that everyone gets a turn at really being listened to by the rest of the class. Everyone now talks with confidence to the whole class. Sometimes we bring interesting things in to share that are linked to our news. The children are looking at some sea urchins that I found one weekend on the shore at Drigg.
Our role play area is a place where we can interact with other children and learn and use new vocabulary linked to the themed area. Our home corner is very popular at the moment.
